It’s here! I’m very excited that Released 6 has finally arrived! For those new to DavidBuckleyMusic, Released 6 is a compilation CD produced by dBStudios (no relation) featuring songs from unsigned artists. My track “The Call” (Track 2) was chosen for professional recording late last year.

The song speaks of the purpose of life and how there’s a deep longing in all of our hearts that only God can fill. I wrote the song a couple of years ago during a time in my life when I was searching for a big purpose. After months of searching I discovered that the deep longing isn’t fulfilled by doing something or being someone but by God alone. First and foremost our call is to the Almighty God, everything else is secondary. It was a big lesson for me and so if hearing this song helps anyone else going through similar struggles then Hallelujah!
There are 13 tracks and it’s a privilege to hear my song amongst so many other great artists (check out Mike Lopresti his track is superb). So if you would like a copy of the CD (I only have a very limited amount) I will be charging £10 for each CD, every penny of which will go to Smiles Foundation in Romania (www.thesmilesfoundation.org). Please contact me if you would like a copy. Leading nicely onto Smiles Foundation, in preparation for the upcoming mission trip and to raise more money for Romania, my wife Lucy and I are hosting an event at our church (Bolsover Methodist Church) in April (probably Sat 26th). This will involve a meal followed an evening of music, worship and information on the work of Smiles. Its purpose is not only to raise money but to increase awareness of the great work Smiles are doing. Tickets will be on sale soon (get in touch for more info).
Moving on……
Things are still progressing well at my church (www.bolsovermethodistchurch.co.uk) we are in the middle of a 15 week study on the book of James “How to develop a faith that works”. Subjects are challenging but the word of God is inspiring and equipping.
Finally,Worship Academy was excellent last month. The weekend was focused on theology and Dr Stuart Burns took us through the history of worship. It absolutely opened my eyes and convinced me that the Church is not dying (as some believe) but very much alive in the Spirit and has a bright future. It’s energised me in new ways and I’m grateful to God for being part of such as a worship led, Spirit filled generation. Praise God for his great mercy and unwavering confidence in the Church!
God Bless

This year is shaping up to be a good one. There is a lot going on.
Firstly the “Released 6” CD (which includes my song “The Call” is finally ready. I should receive delivery sometime next week so will have a limited number of CD’s to sell (contact me if you want one). Proceeds will go to Smiles Foundation (www.thesmilesfoundation.org).
Lucy and I are going to Romania in June this year on a mission trip, for the opening of the community centre. We’re excited and apprehensive all at the same time, please provide prayer support for this time and the months coming up to it.
As part of the preparation for our Mission Trip and to raise money for the Smiles Foundation I am thinking of putting on some sort of small scale gig combining music with an information download on the Smiles Foundation. It will also seek to raise funds for the mission trip and for the charity.
I’m still attending Worship Academy every 2 months next year. The weekends are really special and I’m learning lots. I have been writing songs for some group work which I will publish on the website when they are finished. I’m hoping to spend more time writing songs this year. I have an aim to write 1 a month.
Things are progressing well at my church (www.bolsovermethodistchurch.co.uk) we are moving forward all the time. It’s very exiting to be part of it. Following 40 days we have just started a 15 week study on “How to develop a faith that works”. Things are going well and it feels like we’re actually gaining some momentum. Praise God.
Finally I’ve re-jigged the website for the new year, I’ll try and keep up it more up to date with news and information this year. Thanks to all those who have signed my guestbook, I appreciate the comments. Please check it often for updates and continue to use it for feedback.
Thanks for your continued interest and support.
God Bless
Dave
